THE ABSENTEE BELOVED HAS HIMSELF COME
(Nuri Granth Vol. I, Page 750)

Today has come, today has come,
The absentee Beloved himself!
Night after night, I had remained awake for him,
He has come, and blessed has become my life!
The absentee Beloved has himself come!

Beautifully smile his eyes,
And radiant are his lotus feet,
Unto Gokul, he has come for the milkmaids,
And he has bewitched all the Gopis, and all the hearts!
The absentee Beloved has himself come!

Today play the flutes and the clarinets,
Friends! give me your felicitations!
May he grant me his glance, says Nuri,
And may he seat me at his lotus feet!
The absentee Beloved has himself come!
